The Malediction

from The Testament of the Infernal by Wraithborn

/

lyrics

Since that night in 1765,
He’s had nothing to say.
Nothing but the words of a rabid hatred.
Nothing but the crack of a whip.
Mother’s last words, I am told
were nothing but my name twofold.
Bleeding out, Bastien, she cried.
And then she was no more.

My father,
He held her in his arms
as she took her last breath.
Fifteen years have past,
it’s all remained the same.
He looks me in the eyes,
and says the wrong one died.
Torturous beatings,
so many bloody nights.
I cannot take this more.
I must escape this plight.

Moon above,
the woods are calling me.
Father sleeping,
I take my chance to leave.
After days of running,
a clearing I perceive.
A stump adorns a gift,
a crimson book,
calling me.

Within the pages,
I read my vengeful story.
Magic of a world unseen.
My father’s death, spelled out just for me.

I lean this malediction.
The fires I spawn will rend his soul clean.
Return to home, at midnight’s call.
I spell the end for him; enthralled.

Fire screams out from within my hand,
through the window of my fathers bedroom.
Flames as satisfying as his shrieks of agony.
The book’s ghastly symbol now etched in my hand.
I must now leave from here,
I cannot be near this grave.
